Coulter was invited by fellow artist and writer, Brent Hallard to exhibit in WAVE, a curated group show, of Australian artists currently working in hard edged abstraction with a common interest in the potency of reductive practice and colour nuances. Held at the Byron School of Art Project space.

In response to the invitation, the artist proposed a new site specific work, ‘spatial deconstruction #17 (wave)’, a recontextualizing of the laid back lifestyle of Northern New South Wales and it’s surf culture, interpreted through spatial site specific geometric abstraction.
