Sunshine Coast Art Prize Finalist
my work, ornamental symmetrie blau blue, has been
selected as a finalist in this years
Sunshine Coast Art Prize.
This work explores the spatial relationship and organisation of
geometric colour, through a precise composition inspired by a
residency and site-specific work undertaken in Germany.
The juxtaposition of the reductive geometric painting paired
with the coloured ornamental frame references ideas about the
paradox of art as decoration.
Colour is a continuing critical concern within my practice,
through implementation of an intensely saturated and repetitive
spectrum. I am interested in breaking limitations between
elitism and popular culture through the use of spatial arrangements
and colour as an idea.
