LIFESTYLE PERFECTION, 2018
Synthetic polymer paint on linen
120 x 96 x 3.2cm
Lifestyle perfection refers to a sense of illusionism that is exuded through contemporary society, whilst living domestic life.
This work is one of a series of four paintings created for my composites solo exhibition. These paintings utilise the grid as an underlying organisational device, whilst allowing an organic composition to evolve and flow. These works examine domestic life and the work of women, through hard edge abstraction. Made through the process of raising my young children they combine a Memphis style narrative with a more decorative approach to painting.
Exhibited as part of COMPOSITES solo exhibition held at dianne tanzer + THIS IS NO FANTASY, Melbourne.
