LINDEN NEW ART, St Kilda, Melbourne
WINNER, Linden New Art Prize 2016
Judged by Emma Crimmings and Anthony Fitzpatrick

The Linden Art Prize is a non-acquisitive contemporary art award established for artists graduating from a Masters Degree or PhD in the previous year.

As a finalist in the 2016 Linden New Art Prize, Coulter created an insitu work, ‘spatial deconstruction #15 (gemstone with fireplace)’, which incorporated historical elements of the space, including the existing fireplace and architraves. History and currency collide in Coulter’s installation which reinterprets the whole gallery space, originally a historic home as a support for contemporary painting.

Coulter was the Winner of the 2016 Linden Art Prize, receiving $10,000 and a years mentorship from the Linden team.
